I saw the Messy Mom Monday posts hosted by my girls Jess and Brittany today and I thought that I could ROCK this linkup. If they thought their houses were messy, I'd help a sister out and show them the disgustingness that was my crib.
And cringing, I took some pics. Nervously, sure I'd lose followers if I posted them, I e-mailed them to myself.
By some stroke of (good?) (bad?) luck, when I checked my email, they didn't send correctly. And I deleted them as I sent them. But I promise you they were doozies.
I'm talking pics of the highchair in our bedroom because I stuck G in there so I could get a shower.
And a big bag of toys that have been sitting on a kitchen chair for a month, waiting to donate them to our church's nursery.
There was a picture of our unmade bed with two baskets of unfolded laundry on it.
Dishes in the sink. An applesauce container on the counter. A cluttered kitchen table. While I'm not dirty, I am supah messy. Always have been, always will be. It does get to the point that it bothers me, like today. But I am just so stinkin' disorganized that I can't even pretend to be one of those bloggers with a perfect house, even for a day. Sigh.
Fortunately for you I got a few pictures to prove it....

This is my dresser. These books have been sitting there for a week because I keep forgetting to bring them to work. The water bottle should have made its way to the kitchen but I guarantee I got distracted by something shiny. The makeup has its own story behind it, also ADD-related.

My bathroom sink. I have the ever present bobby pins, a foot file that G stole out of my shower, an overflowing trash can, my favorite necklace that I took off last night, and more. Lucky for you, this shot doesn't show the dirty clothes on the floor.
Ah, the piece de resistance. My lovely, pretending to be organized space saver. Nice, huh? Oh yes, we live like that.
Well, LIVED. I was off work today and I completed four huge organizational tasks. I cleaned out my craft corner in the basement. That would have been a shocking before/after photo post. Holy cow, was that a mess. I am very grateful to the kind stranger at Hobby Lobby who gave me a 40% off coupon, enabling me to buy an organization system. My husband told me he got all tingly when he saw it. The man is a sucker for organization.
I also cleaned out and reorganized our hall closet, as well as my top nightstand drawer, which each deserve their own posts.
And before you start thinking I'm knocked up again, just don't. I know for sure that I'm not. I am here to tell you that having three weeks to get your house on the market will send you into an even more powerful nesting mode than when you have a giant belly. Trust me.
But the biggest organization I did today? Remember that nasty space saver that I cannot believe I posted? Check it out now.
If this didn't make you feel good enough about your own home, just wait till next week when I plan to blog my classroom/desk/workspace. Messy doesn't begin to describe it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have more organizing to do.
Namaste.

That's awesome. I'm obsessed with baskets. I have them all over my house. Which means there's also random crap shoved in all the baskets. Hmm.
I start out organized, in baskets, on shelves, specialized containers, etc. and then it all crashes down, looking worse than before I initially organized, and then I have to re-organize it into the system. It's a nasty cycle...
I am convinced you either have the organizational skills, or you don't. From all of these posts, I must be OCD or something. I am always picking up as I go, putting things away that I got out, cleaning corners of the house after a few days, etc. Clean spaces make me happy. I should send you picks of my desk at school. So empty another teacher could move right on in without encroaching upon my stuff.
Oh gosh you are one brave woman! I always find myself picking up before I post a picture of my house! Love the honesty, G!!
And your organization above the toilet looks great!!!
Heading to the playroom RIGHT NOW to take a picture. Hand on my heart I cleaned it top to bottom last night. We don't call my daughter Hurricane Lillie for nothing. The end result was her idea of picking up the toys she'd strewn across multiple rooms. Shudder.
I saw the MMM link-up on Britt's blog and am having so much fun going through and checking out all the other messy mommas! I'm like you with the toys needing to go to the church nursery. They've been sitting in a box on my desk for about 3 months now. Sad!
My cabinets are quite organized. All the closets? Nice and neat. It's the areas where the kids touch things that look like chaos.
That's life with kids. And if you work outside the home full time? Even more so. Dude. You take care of yourself, and your boys are all happy. That's success in my book.
Did I miss something? 3 weeks to get your house on the market? You are moving?
I honestly think it's not bad ;) And I am the queen of clutter in places like under my sinks, in cabinets, etc...HORRIBLE. I wish I was better. But I suck. ha.
i have to agree with Katie.. I dont think its too bad at all!!! You wanna check out messy.. look at this contest going on by contest factory looking for the messiest cubicle or desk!!!https://twitter.com/PimpMyCubeCF
Awesome organization!!! :)
I have a bad habit of stashing stuff in baskets - for later....
Oh girl my bathroom is a hot mess too, just covered behind a door though.
