Fragments for Friday

My girl Katie sometimes does Friday Fragments, and today, I'm Friday Fragmenting it up.

*I made it through my first week of full-time work and at the risk of sounding like the worst mom ever, it felt right. It's where I'm supposed to be. It's easy to say that because I pick my boys up around 4-ish, Spring Break is just around the corner, and of course there is summer vacation. Plus, I really, really love my job. Today, I got a group hug from three third grade girls who couldn't stop telling me how much they missed me when I was on maternity leave. I also got to play Go Fish with two little boys with Cerebral Palsy who melt my heart every time I see them. It's also easier to do my job myself then sharing it with someone else. Don't get me wrong...I miss my boys fiercely while working, but being back at work feels good.

*It also helps that I am very happy with where my boys go during the day. If you watch kids, send their parents pictures of them during the day. G's babysitter sent me two adorable pictures of him this week and L's teacher e-mailed me a great one of him and his BFF playing in animal costumes. I wish I had the words to explain how happy those made me.

*I've kind of fallen off the workout train. I had a personal training session on Thursday, and I'm determined to hop back on the Gym Rat Express. I'm going to spin class tomorrow, a cardiomix class on Sunday, and Body Pump on Monday. I don't like the way I feel or look when I'm not working out.

*Barometric pressure changes make me wiggy. I feel like L and G should be my great-grandchildren rather than my kids when weather changes are coming. My joints get tight and I just feel off. I actually busted out some yoga moves on the rug in my classroom in order to counteract the old-lady feeling today right before snow started falling. My roommate looked at me like I had lost it, but it helped a little.

*G has found his voice. He likes to fake-cry, yell at his feet, and screech for fun. It's super cute but I bet the first time he does it during a particularly quiet moment in church, the cute factor will be greatly diminished.

*L got his first report about negative behaviors at school today. Apparently, the little stinker completely refused to clean up. He just leaned against the counter and watched his friends clean, then actually said "no," several times, when asked to clean up. Hearing the story made me chuckle, because he's actually usually a very good cleaner-upper, but he did get movie-watching privileges taken away tonight. He had to clean instead. Hee.
