Worth the wait.

Yesterday, I had every intention of linking up with Katie's Saturday Morning Scene. After all, I had a baby niece on the way! My only sibling was having his own baby and I was giddy. So I waited. When I heard she was pushing, I headed to Target to buy her post-partum essentials (thanks to my Twitter girls, I was given the best suggestions ever).

My poor SIL pushed for over an hour to no avail. And I waited. She relived her own birth when they decided it just plain wasn't going to happen and they determined a c-section was necessary.

I headed to the hospital. And I waited.

Finally, she was born. My baby brother came out with a camera, beaming and proud, announcing that his daughter was not only the most beautiful girl in the world, but also "strong like bull."

Although I had to snuggle and run because of my own big day plans (stay tuned for a post all about them), I immediately decided she was worth the wait. We had a serious talk about how I'd paint her toenails and take her shopping and keep her secrets. I promised that I understood how important it was that I'd be the best auntie ever. After all, I am her only one.
