Edamame, pepitas, and chicken-less strips...mmmm.

I am kind of thinking about becoming a vegetarian. I don't eat much red meat (not even steak), and lately even chicken has kind of disgusted me. I get the whole food chain thing. I do. But the thought of eating animals just doesn't sit right with me. I mean, I don't care at all when other people do it, but to me, I'd rather stick with non-animal products. And who knew there were so many delicious choices out there, chock-full of protein?? I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and found soy-based "chicken-less strips" that I thought had a better flavor and texture than real chicken. I scored dark-chocolate covered edamame and pepitas for high-protein snacks.

I don't know that I will eat zero meat. I still want to eat fish, so I guess that's technically a Pescetarian. And how I will give up my dad's homemade meatballs and McDonald's hamburgers (I know, I know) is beyond me. But I would like to at least eat LESS meat, which according to the internet makes me a Sympathetic Vegetarian. Hee.

However, I am wondering about how the fact that I want to get pregnant soon will play into this. I actually bought a pregnancy test today since I am a week late. I am 99% sure that it's just because I haven't had a period since I got off of the pill and my body hasn't self-regulated yet. I feel like I am going to start any second. But about 46 people told me that they got pregnant the month they got off the pill so I figured I'd better check. If I haven't started by tomorrow, I'll be waiting impatiently for those two little lines.

How's that for a cliffhanger to end my post? Better than "the most dramatic rose ceremony yet" teaser at the end of every Bachelor, which has now become soft-core porn as of last night. But that's another post for another day. Stay tuned for pregnancy results! (And shhh, don't tell anyone...this topic is for bloggy ears only!)
